Well I suppose that depends on the type of friends you want, and the salads you make. If you’re thinking of some iceberg lettuce, a bit of tomato and maybe some cucumber or shreds of carrot – boring! But that’s not what salads are, at least not any longer.
My basic garden salad includes baby spinach leaves, rocket, tomato, mushroom, capsicum, carrot, cucumber, corn, avocado and a yummy dressing. Usually there’s a lot more in it than that. I like to throw in some other things like beans or chick peas, nuts, radish, zucchini, broccoli, seeds, roast pumpkin, asparagus, sprouts, snow peas, quinoa, bulgar, crunchy noodles etc. Then there are pasta salads, rice salads, roast vegie salads, noodle salads, warm salads, the options are almost endless.
