Where do you get your protein?

Someone’s just found out you’re a vegan (or plant-based). Here it comes, the questions about how you possibly manage to ingest enough protein without consuming animal products.

Currently, protein seems to be the big one people ask about, at least anecdotally that seems to be the case. I can only assume that it must be due to the popularity of so many high protein or protein focused diets, like Atkins or Dukan. I’ve been vegan for over 20 years, and was vegetarian for about 14 years or so before that, and protein was never raised as an issue.  Read More →
